Hello, I have been looking at buying my "old" compact tractor back, my father sold it in late 2014. but then I regretted it, I found it online and only 20 minutes from me, last time I had it the engine knocked but still ran, Is there ANY!!! website online that offers a COMPETE engine rebuild kit or even just Crank Bearings! here is a photo of it, i repainted it myself.

No parts supply for those Hinomoto except for a dealer having some NOS as far as I can
find out.I bought a Massey Ferguson 220-4(basically the same as the AC 5030) cheap because
the owner couldn't find front end parts.I put a 2WD front off a parts AC 5020 I have on it.Pretty good tractor but if it breaks.........

Yes I knew it was based off a Japan Tractor, so only NOS and used parts? where can i find them. I know someone bought out Hinomoto can't remember who though.

Id start it up and see how long the engine knocks, give it some fuel and see if it quits, Ive got one just like it and knocks like a bitch at first start but clears up,

How much difference between a 5015 engine and a 5020? Have one for salvage. It's 2wd and no sheet metal

Alot Bill, the 5020 is 25 hp while 5015 is 18. different size and stroke/bore motors.

I think I might have a 5015 shop manual in an A-C binder. Let me know if you might be interested and I'll look for it. Thanks.

From what I've found out the 5020 and 5030 engines are the ones that are very similar
and will interchange.

I know as far back as around 2002 Bud Yingling had a 5020 in his shop and he had to order a piston for it from Japan. The story I heard was the factory in Japan was destroyed
when they had that giant Tidal Wave back about 10 or so years ago or maybe they just quit making any parts. It happens I have a Bolens that was built by Iseki and sold by
Garden Way in the US and the parts situation  is the same for that too.

Is $1200 fair for the tractor? i don't think it is considering parts are so scarce and well its just about the money

So the guy won't let it go for under 1200, what a ripoff. to get it running again would take Thousands.

Guess I'll stick with the older stuff what im good at. Guys like him are Tight Sticks. Thumbs Down

Maybe I should sell you mine. Worked on it today. Missing the grille and side shield bolts. I have a thousand bolts but no metric, I was hoping the bolt size would be in the service manuel but no luck. Looked for parts on the internet but could not find a site that would give me any information. O well, the good news is I got the snow blower to work.

Massey Ferguson also sold the same tractor for a good number of years (10). If I remember right it was the 1010 model. Maybe the 1020 was also similar

The Hinomoto C142 (same as the 5015) was also imported as a grey market tractor. You could probably find these overseas much easier if you find someone that can navigate the Japanese sites

My operator book says the engine is a Toyosha. Was there an engine choice?

All had the same brand engine and if anyone can find a parts supplier for those motors/tractors they can make a fortune.A lot of people still paying big $$$$ for those tractors that'll find out they have expensive boat anchors if they break down and need a part of any importance.

Exactly, tons of money and years to find parts for that motor unless you can find a right engine to swap and make work with the transmission.
Anyhow i passed on it.
i think im ready to get back farming with the old stuff. I always wanted a Allis Chalmers Wd with the snap coupler plow and a trip loader

I'll buy tractors like that but they have to be cheap and running and I'll use them until something happens then use it for parts.I use mostly Fiats,AC and Olivers to farm with can still get most any parts I need for them.

Too late the guy told me he already salvaged it down, just selling parts now.
It wasn't running engine was stuck, and parts are nearly impossible to find.
