I posted this in the wrong section the other day,so, does any one have a good used set of 8 rail rims for a 7040?  Is welding patches in the rims an acceptable practice or bite the bullet and go new. I am exploring my options any input is appreciated.
these are 18 x 38's
Thanks, John.

I have welded and patched a few rims over the years....mostly around the valve stem from all the calcium eating away at the rim.
If you go that route, make sure the patch job is SMOOTH so it does not wear a hole in anything. Also inspect the rim prior to see if it is worth patching.

Check with salvage yards. Ford and Massey also used those rims. Bought a pair that came from a M-F.
