Just doing some wild dreaming here, I'll probably never do it. I saw these Keystone turbos on E-Bay and they are listed for the WD and WD45, but I wonder why it wouldn't fit a WC? Aren't the engines pretty similar between a WD and WC?

Or heck, why wouldn't they fit a D17 either? That's pretty close to a WD45.
Thanks

Should work the same.  Someday I'd like to do one.  Picking up a project C this spring that my boy wants to turbo.  Might do that if I can figure out how.

The WD and WC engines are the same. So it should work on either. Turbos tend to build power at higher exhaust flow to get them really spinning and providing boost. This happens at higher engine RPM. WC, WD, and WD 45 engines are far from high RPM with governors set at around 1600 RPM. I'd imagine you'd have to turn up the governor to get more out of the turbo to make it work. Interesting set up. I'd like to get more info on it. Anybody out there have any experience with it? We'd love to hear from you.

I went to their website and they say to turn up the governor by using a blue spring (I believe from a D-17) to 1800 RPM to get 12 PSI boost. That translates to about 80 to 90 HP on a WD-45 and about 70 HP on a WC and WD. That's all without even removing the cylinder head. Of course that's with a good running engine to begin with. They recommend using a larger carb to get best performance like for tractor pulling competition. All said, it looks like a decent system.

What would be a good larger carb to use? D17? One-Seventy/175?

When I built my manifold to put a turbo on my WD45 I mainly done it to see if I could make it work and it works fine but it is true you need RPMs to make it work right.I have tractor pulled it where I would pull the gov wide open not sure on the RPMs I would say 3000 plus the last time I pulled it i ran 9.4 Mph in 2nd gear.On the dyno 68+ but every dyno is not the same.It works fine for field work but I think for the money to buy a turbo setup you would be better off going with the 4.5 stroke and 175 sleeves and pistons or flat top Wd pistons.

Good idea, but the price tag would hurt the wallet a tad. Cry
