Hi guys this is Gavin form Prosser Ne and I'm wanting to redue or put a new seat in my 8070 Allis tractor but I want it to be close to the original seat but I've been having a hard time finding a seat for it. Just seeing if any of you guys have found something or someone that can redue or make a seat for it! Also Thanks in advance!!!

I'd like to know too! The seats in the 8000 series are similar to the Series 3 Gleaners I think, and I have a L3. I'd like to know where to get original style fabric. My seat is still good, but I'd like to know where to get new fabric, because I'm sure it will need re-upholstered one day, and I'm an officer of the "Correct Police" Lol

I've tried contacting the company that originally made the seats and the are still in business but they dont have records where they bought fabric from. Have to find a textile maker to reproduce that style. I haven't had time on finding one lately. I do have fabric to ship to them from a old seat for a pattern so if a few guys would help do some seach I could get fabric to them. I can also get suspension parts too if anyone needs them. NEW ONES!!!!!!

Take your old worn out tractor or combine seat to a reputable local auto upholstery shop. Mine took my AC-7040's seat apart & used the old fabric as a pattern for cutting new fabric that they matched identically. In the seams of the old fabric, the original colors & textures can still be found. Heck, they even made an AC logo metal punch to impress the AC logo into the black vinyl on the upper seat back. Looks like original. Whole thing cost $375.

I've seen where you can get 7000 series deluxe seats redone like original but i havent seen 8000 series with the same cloth pattern that they originally had.

I like all original too but i also spend all day in mine sometimes and I don't get upset when I see an air ride base with a new seat. Id rather be be able to walk at the end of the day than say it's original. I have two with air ride and that's the only thing that's not original.

When we had the 8030 I installed air suspension with its own air pump and installed the Allis two tone brown seat   on the air suspension frame. Just make an adapter plate to attach the two together.

Well Creston you had better not come and visit me. I am one of those people you would leave crying saying why did he add hydraulics or put the wrong fenders on his d15... I agree with the idea of air ride seats. These old tractors where we'll made but if a few upgrades make them more user friendly and keep them in the fields all the better.
As to the op I think the advice to go to a car shop is great advice they have alot of experience with this and the price he showed is probably cheaper then a reproduction seat would be. But if it where mine I wouldn't complain if it ended up a little nicer to sit on.

Guess I worded that wrong. I like all my collector stuff to be original, but I don't mind when other people modify theirs the way they want, especially if it's a working machine still. It's their machine, and as long as they're happy, that's all that matters. Wink

there's an upholstery shop at Bennington, NE. I could stop someday and see if they have anything close.

Alpha Omega Auto Sound, Taylorville, IL
Here's their weblink and contact number. Ask for Austin Moore. He did my AC-7040 seat & still has AC logo punch that he custom fabricated for vinyl imprint.

Agree wek !   Hard to see the seat when your rear is in it.   Air ride is much better than the perfect fabric.   Creston needs more real world experience.
