Our mechanical fuel pump has finally given up.  According to the dealer a mechanical replacement is no longer available and we would need to convert to an electric fuel pump.  I have a blank off plate ordered for the block once we remove the old pump.

I'm not an expert when it comes to equipment electric.  This is still 12 volt, positive ground.  What type of electric fuel pump should we buy?

I am not a fan of the "clicker" type pumps and prefer a good rotary like a Carter. You need to specify a low pressure pump like the one sown in this Ebay link. Notice ithas two wires, that means it isnt grounded through the case and you can use it on a  positive ground system by simply keeping the + and - correctly wired, ground the + and provide power to the -

Butch it right on with the recommendation for the Carter.  They can run on either +/- ground as they are a two wire pump. I have them on both of the pullers. They can be has from places like JEGS or Summit racing just as cheap and anywhere. Also have you checked into places that rebuild mechanical pumps for older cars? Call me any day before 2PM or come over Saturday.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

I found NOS AC Delco fuel pumps on eBay for cheap for my EIII a few years back and picked them up as as spares (and have used them).  Delco number is 8779.   I probably have to go electric myself when my supply runs out, lol.   Mike

Did some looking around on eBay...this looks like it even though it's not listed for it.   Priming handle is different than original but mounting boss looks right and fuel bowl sticks off to the right correctly.   $22.09!   Might have to pick one up myself for another spare.  Good thing is new ones should have diaphragms that work with E10 fuel.   Mike
