Just took my WC out for a run after the carb debacle and its like riding a bucking bronco, as soon as it hits a rut in the road i nearly fly off the seat its a rely ruff ride at top speed, i dont have this problem with my B and C, the ride is really hard, the rear tyres seem to me to big 24 X 14 if i fitted smaller tyres would that help ? I thought of letting some air out the tyres but on checking they have at present arround 12 PSI what pressure would be exceptable to give a more comfortable ride ? I also thought may be look for a pair of grass tyres but not sure she would look right

The guys on here would know more than I but,
seems like wheel weights or loaded tires would help smooth out the ride if you don't already have weight in the back.

Take some air out.

If they are that old to have major cracking, letting too much air out may make them come apart at speed. Suggest checking to see what they have for pressure first before letting too much out, then drive her a bit at less than road speed to flex the old gals back in so more pliable . . . .

to give you an idea about old tires...(on anything) I had some decent tires given to me one day, and thought i'd put them on my truck auger as the tires on it were smooth and cracked (real old) but not flat yet, I took one off, and went to take the air out and no air came out, so I took the valve stem core out and still no air came out. I pressed down on it and it was SOLID! since they weren't flat while still on the auger, I put it back on, still not flat, and the still roll around just fine here on the farm. still no air in them. I wouldn't take it down the road cuz they would chunk apart. but are fine on the place! newer tires are not like that!
