Hello All, I am new here, and I'm on the beg right off the hop! I'm trying to pull the PTO assembly off our Allis 6080 to change the rear bearing. I've pulled the hitch off, left the PTO in gear and pulled all the bolts. Its come off about 2" but I can't get it any farther, like I'm trying to slide a bearing out of its housing or something. I have the IT manual, but maybe I'm missing something? Thanks for any and all help! Jim |

Before you pull the rear assembly off you need to have the PTO lever on the left of the seat in the connected position. The coupler or sleeve will fall off if you don't. Here is a picture of what it looks like off. That PTO shaft is long and may be hanging up inside somewhere?

If I remember right the assembly is very front heavy, so it may be binding up slightly? Oh and welcome to the forum.

| That could be. I rattled it around pretty good. That is a great picture of what I hope to be looking at soon. I engaged the left hand PTO lever and cross my fingers that it keeps everything held together up front. |

| Something else I remembered. There is a bearing where the PTO shaft rides just above the final drive. That shaft has to be pulled through that at just the right angle or it will bind. I think that it comes out to the rear of the tractor so you may have to pull the bearing with it and reinstall before the rest goes back in. The shaft fits pretty snug in that bearing. |

Ah, that is making sense in the IT book. I'm likely not pulling as straight as I could on that shaft. I'll give her another go in the morning. Thanks very much, I wasn't sure I was pulling on something that I shouldn't. Jim |

| If the cupped does drop, you can go through park brake cover to put it back in place. The shaft comes through that bearing pretty hard some times. MACK |
