I just checked our local NAPAs web site, nothing more than normal.

Oil Filters for my 7000 - it takes 2;

NAPA Gold - $13.50 each "on sale"

Fleetgard from Filterbarn.com - $6.09 each

Air Filters - includes both the big and small filter;

NAPA Gold - $90.00

Fleetguards from Filterbarn.com - $40.54

For 95% of the stuff I need I can't afford to shop at NAPA! Ouch

I won't take the gift of their gold filters the last one I had almost cost me a freshly rebuilt 160 gas motor. That thing wouldn't pass any oil!!!!!

Dan,
That's odd. Normally those are a good filter (Wix), just a bit pricy.

The NAPA(Wix) filters do seem to be good quality but what pisses me off is their pricing. My local store has about 3 different prices for everything. Your price depends on who you are and yes the farmer pays the highest price of all. Repair shops pay the least and NAPA will deliver them FREE! and set them up a charge account so you can pay monthly. I'm sure this is pretty much standard procedure at all parts stores but it still gets under my skin. As far as NAPA's filter sale goes---if they can sell them a little cheaper for a few days then they can do it year round. I use Baldwin filters from Fleetpride. I've had good service with them and they are WAY,WAY cheaper than NAPA and their price is the same every day of the year.

I have had a problem with Napa (Wix) hydraulic filters on my little Ford mowing tractor.
It takes 2 and one after about 3 hours on the change will start blowing fluid out around the seal. First time was about 5 gallons in 1 1/2 minutes before I realized it. Thought it was a bad filter. Got another and it did it again. Caught it in time and just tightened it up. It was tight to begin with??

Wix is a good filter as I'm under the assumption. Never had a problem before with anything else and it beats the heck out of NH prices.

I tried Napa before with their sale, only special filters seem to work for AC; THEY GAVE A 10% break, but AGCO WAS cheaper

I don't know how to bring a "link" to this site, but for great filter prices all the time go to "fmsfilters.com". This is where I work and we sell Wix filters and we ship them out everyday. We have free shipping on most orders over $250.00. If you use a lot of filters you may even qualify for "fleet" pricing.JP

Jack,
Just an FYI, Filterbarn.com has free shipping on orders over $100, which makes it nice for a smaller user like me. I wouldn't use $250 in filters in 5 years.

I'll have to take a look at your site and see how it looks.

Fleetfilter.com sells NAPA gold filters at less than half the price of NAPA....the more you buy the cheaper they get.

I just did a quick check on the oil filters I just bought for my 7000;

Fleetfilter - $7.63 for a Wix

FMSFilters - $7.30 for a Wix

Filterbarn - $6.09 for a Fleetguard

If you were OK with a Donaldson, which IMO is as good as either of the other ones, Filterbarn has that for $4.53.

If we had those pricies around here I would have gladly given my NAPA dealer my business, but we didn't. Locally it was $13.50.

When I was getting ready to do all the filters on my 7000, NAPA was $136.80 for everything, Filterbarn was $62.86.

I ended up getting both air filters, (2) sets of oil filters, and (2) fuel filters for the 7000, an oil filter for my Massey and an oil filter for my D17 shipped to the door for $34.00 LESS than one set of filters from my local NAPA was.

I like my local NAPA guys - I just can't afford to shop there.

Our local NAPA had their sale about a month ago. We do a lot of business with them as they started out as a farm and truck parts place. They took on NAPA when the local dealer went broke. I can get filters cheaper there during the sale than anywhere. I can buy a lot of filters cheaper any time of the year. I made a deal with them many years ago to do all my parts business with them on my semis and pickups, with a discount. We picked up over $1600 in filters during the sale this year.
