does anyone know how long a tire chain is that will fit on a 14.9 x 28 tire?  thanks

I always thought you could use the diameter formula,

 2 x pi x r = circumference

That would be how long the chains need to be for you tires.

The number of cross chains, the style of chain and how many cross chains there are are all factors that effect the length.

The "double ring" style that fit the 14.9 X 28 tires on my WD-45 are 9 ft long.
The side links are 2-3/4" and there are 54 of them.
The cross chain length is 28".
The cross chains are located every 5th side link.

Tire width comes into play also.

Tire size certainly plays the biggest part......Alan specified the tire size.....so I had a perfect comparison for him.
