When the D17 was introduced Allis Chalmers introduced a 10 , 12 and 15 foot s/c spring tooth cultivator for the D14 and D17 also the WD and WD45. Does anyone have pictures of these cultivators and was there a model number. thanks

Well, I don't know if this is what you were looking for, but here is a 12' snap coupler spring tooth I picked up a couple years ago. I then acquired a 16' one also. Never seen a 10' one, but heard there were 8' ones (also never seen one).

And here is what I would call a snap coupler field cultivator. It is 8' wide.

Thanks Dave The first cultivator - first time seeing one like that. Was this unit sold by Allis. The second cultivator dad bought a used one like that one in 1961 but the C shanks had been changed to the new style which was a larger C which was used on the cultivator that I was looking for. A neighbour had a 15 ft s/c cultivator back in the late 50's along with a 15 ft Allis disc to pull behind his new D17. Wow as a kid then the D17 was some big tractor which we could only dream about.

Well, they are both Allis. The spring tooth still has a decal on it saying Allis. Can't recall if the field cultivator still has a decal on it. It may have been manufactured by Oxnard, though.

We had one just like that 2nd one behind our WD45. Worked well. Opened up the governor lots! Same as you Fred we replaced all the teeth with the bigger wrap around "C" style. The other ones all broke off in the Grey county rock patch. LOL

I have one like the second one. Got a couple broken teeth also. Took the center section off an mounted hiller discs on it. Works great for cultivating potatoes.

We had one like the one shown on the second link above.
TM-16D or E is the form number of the book not the cultivator model.

Is one might be more of a heavier unit then you are talking about.

I also have one like the one Dave calls a field cultivator. Mine had been used behind a front mounted row crop cultivator to remove the tire tracks. It has been converted to a 3pt because I no longer have a SC tractor.
