I have been working on my d15 with a loader today. Turns out my power steering leak is the seals on the control valve the oil just runs out of the valve seals. The real kicker is it steers great as long as the oil is still their. But the leak is hopelessly bad and has to be fixed.

Is the service manual correct that I have to remove the front counter weight in order to access the control valve or is there some trick which will save me some disassemble?

The front casting has to come off to replace the seal where the steering shaft goes in on the left side.  Far easier to work on it without it on the tractor.

Thanks I just wanted to double check before I started.   I think I can do that without having to pull the loader.
