Weren't a very few early 'W' engines that had slightly smaller crankshaft bearings? Not the Waukesha engines, though..

Not that I've heard of. Should have been the same from early 201 til the D17 came out and they went to a larger main bearing

The early ones did have smaller bearings.  When was the head changed to have the 3 smaller bolts down the right side?  Few real minor things like cast valve covers/pans, the mag was changed.  Think they had 2 different carbs.  Air cleaner was changed at styled.  But as far as the engine itself goes, the crank is all I can think of other than the head bolts.  You can get on AGCOparts.com and look for serial number changes.
