Im still not having any luck with the hydraulics on my "new" series 3 XT.  It has the same pump on it as the older 190 I have.  I drained the fluid, cleaned the screen in the sump, changed filters, and refilled with the correct oil, and I am still not having any luck.  The weird thing that should be telling me something is that when I move the position control levers up (higher), the 3 point will raise, and the pump will make noise like it is working, but I cant get make it sound like it is working when I work any of the other valves, and the 3 point will not come up unless I move the position control lever, and then it only comes up about halfway.  Does that mean that there is something wrong in the control valves, or ??  Any help is appreciated.

Does the steering work?
Is it the 3 section or 2 section pump?
The position and draft controll work off of a seperate section of the pump then the lift and steering.
It sound like the main section of the pump is not working.
Most time the 3 point will not completely lower without some weight on the arms.
Try turning the steering wheel back and forth with the engine running.

The steering works just fine, so does the high/low.  You are right, the 3 point will not go down all the way, even with weight on the arms.  Any guesses about what is wrong with the main section of the pump?  This tractor had been sitting a long time before I bought it, but the pump looks like it had been replaced.  Thanks!

I would hook something up to the remotes and see if that works.

It also sounds like the the position control is not adjusted properly if it will not go down all the way with the lever all the way down. Either that or a mechanical problem.
The wear plates in the pump may be worn out.
