Back in 2012 I repaired my model #17 loader cylinders with new packing, etc. At the time, there was a link to a video posted on the forum on how to perform this repair. I thought I had saved the link, but my computer deleted items prior to 2015 and I lost the link. I've tried a google search, but cannot find the video. Does anyone have the link to this video? I'm in need of it for another repair and it would be helpful. Thanks, Dave

I just did this on my d17. I have done them in the past (not on this) it's pretty straight forward. biggest issue is removing the gland nut. just hunt YouTube for hydraulic cylinder repair...they are pretty much the same concept

Yeah, I found the generic sites on the repair. Just was looking for that specific one that I had previously referred to.

I kind of looked for allis-specific vid's on the same subject. I came up empty. one thing I have realized with machinery vs automotive there are very few vids out there in terms of repairs.
if you find it, please post. if I find it, I will do the same. I also think that some of the "old timers" don't use the internet as much as the younger folks...which is sad (but understandable) because some of these guys are a wealth of knowledge...and we lose more and more every year

I have an A.C. friend from south west Jackson, MI. that will not use a computer. Like me, he's in his late 70's.

One of the things that would fit in Farm Equipment- Knowledge category in my thinking.
Not that many ways to keep the plug in the end of a ram,  but then again.
Back about 40 years ago I thought I had seen most of the ways.Snap rings and wires or treads or bolted flanges. Started on the wing lift on a Glencoe 32 foot cultivator one of the early ones all cable from the rams. Internal wire I think it is after you push plug into barrel you pull it out. Plug wiggled and moved but would not slide out. I fussed and fiddled my dad that did not like doing such things came and gave his thoughts and still was not coming out. Got a friend to stop on his way home. His idea put 100 psi of air to it. Looked like it might come  no not yet. His next idea at this point let me say a good thing not to do. Put hydraulic pressure to it. Thankfully we used the HD 5 with the low psi rear pump,  it came easy. The 1/2 inch street L fitting was really into the plug not the barrel. Nobody hurt but the sheared pipe fitting. Never had another one put together that way.  Well I did do the other wing some years latter, so I have seen a second one.
