Not according to this;
SOMECA Tractor History

SOMECA Tractor Links

someca-1.jpgSOMECA (La Societe de Mecanique de la Seine) was a subsidiary of French carmaker SIMCA. SOMECA started in the 1950s with a take-over of MAP and its two-stroke diesel engine. The model line expanded with a variety of Fiat-based models through the 1960s until SIMCA was taken over by Chrysler and SOMECA was sold to New Holland.

I had a Simca car back in High School,(mid 1960's) 4 cylinder, 4 speed on the tree, 4 door.  Not a bad little car.
