1967 Chevrolet Camaro 383 Super Sport

- --- -

Owned by Steve Martin of Livingston, Tennessee

- --- -

This is the very first year for the Camaro.

For my part, they should have never changed them after 1969 or just quit and never made another.

I had a ‘79 Z28, with the 350 & 4sp on the floor. Definitely a young man’s car, by the time I was thirty I couldn’t last 20 minutes sitting in it. No matter what adjustments I made to the seat, lower lumbar aggravation.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

I had a 74 with a strong 350 and a Muncie 4 speed loved it and I had a very nice 79 Z28 350 with an automatic.
I much prefer the 67 to the 69.
Same with chevelle I prefer the 66/67 to the later ones.
Love them all.

Lars was there something wrong with the seat? I can still drive mine all day. I have replaced the seats but only to get some side support and better seat belts. We do some track days with these old cars.

Never could figure the issue, it was traded in for a Dodge Grand Caravan. With our 2nd child on the way, it was for the Z to go.

This is mine and I've kept it since 4/26/1976:

Still has original 340 engine, four speed transmission, and 3.23 Sure Grip rear axle.

One of these days I'll get to it.....

Had a 1970 Camaro Z-28 but didn't have the original 350/350 engine. Astro Blue color car with white stripes. I put a pair of new quarters on it and sold the car with a fresh 383 engine. Kind of liked the car but too cramped for a family vehicle, and too expensive to keep as a hobby car in those days with employment being spotty at the time.

My nephew has two 67 Camaro's. One is restored numbers matching with the 327 2bbl Capri Cream w/red interior and the other is Grey w/Black interior and has a hot 255 six cylinder in it. He also has three 67' Nova Station Wagons. Two original V8 cars w/A/C and one 6 cylinder w/A/C. He also has a 67 Nova 4 door "sleeper" with a worked over 292 V8. We call it the "Grandma car". All numbers matching cars. I don't know where he got the Nova fever from..... LOL!  Wink
