Looking for feedback about Precision Spark Electronic Ignition.
Considering converting my D-17 to the Precision Spark system.  It has a 5 year warranty.
Hamilton Bobs has them on eBay and Amazon.  I know nothing about Hamilton Bobs.
The price and warranty look very interesting.

did a quick googling...
found

looks very,very similar to it.....

The big issue for me is NO 'protection', too high voltage = poof, $100 down the drain !, same as Pertronix units..... I fail to understand why 'they' don't add  50 cents worth of protection into the module.....it ain't 'rocket science' to do that.

On the application part of Jay's link, top line under Allis Chalmers says "All 4-cyl Baler models 300, 302, 303 - Autolite IAD-6004 - 3AUT4U1". I'm not saying there weren't any, but did anyone ever see an AC baler it's own engine?

You're aware the link shows it is for a Neg ground and D17's are positive ground (unless it was converted....).
I have a PerTronic's on our D17 IV- installed 15 years ago.

Take another look at the photo. The box (to the right of coil) contains the electronic ignition module.

I put a Pertronix in my D17 15 years ago.  It never skips a beat!  Everything is hidden in the distributor, no more problems with points and condensers.
