I have an oil leak in the front and rear of my D 17 engine. I'm not sure if its the crank seals or just the oil pan gasket. Is there an easy way to tell for sure without splitting the whole tractor apart? Need input.

I had to pull my D-17 engine out and tear it apart last year. When I put the oil pan on I snugged the bolts but didnt want to squeeze out the gasket. Later, after discovering an oil leak, I figured out the pan bolts needed just a little more torque. Stopped the leak!

take a wrench and try to turn the pan bolts 1/2 turn- all you can reach. see if that helps. on an older motor, quite often it is the seals. |

Like them all, but love the "B"s.
