any body have experience with blades hitting each other on a sunstar deck ?   how do i fund out how to fix ?

Not sure what that is but.. sounds like the blades are Too long? or need to be off set?

Are they a timed blade ? Gearbox type so blades do not rotate freely .
Check spindle location if not to be sure clearance is between blades, also position that blades turn true to spindle with both blades the same height as they turn . 
 bad bearings , bent shaft, bent deck, spindle shimmed wrong or loose mounting. 
Set up on solid surface and measure blade height as they swing arc, deck height should be slightly lower in front than rear, but same in front and side (90deg from fwd) .

it's a shaft drive to the  deck, but the blades are belt driven , arbors seem tight no obvious signs of out of place or bent. i did have a broken blade mounting plate, i bought new and haven't tried it yet, will do today.

I haven't had that problem but keeping them tight has become a big problem

that may be next, but i think something is bent i would like to find what it is. Just don't know where or how to measure.

my simp dealer in la crosse wi  suggested i may have a bad bearing, take tension off belt and pulleys, and shake blades, if they wiggle  top arbor bearing is bad.  I will try  tomorrow, to pooped to do tonight.
