This is the only one I have seen with the motor down behind the blade . I could never find a picture of it in any Allis Chalmers book.

According to "Allis Chalmers Construction Machinery and Industrial Equipment" by Norm Swinford
it appears to be a 42T. T for tandem axle. Powered by UM engine.
the 54T looks similiar but is powered by the K engine. cab was standard equip where as on 42T was optional.
both models produced from approx 1931-1940

AC went though several variants of that design. Here is a picture of its big brother that I found online.
And here is a picture of the older single drive axle model. (This one is dad's)

Thanks for the correction. I recently moved and haven't found the box with my Allis books yet!

The 42T picture was taken at the GOTO in Marshalltown IA in 1998. I talked to the owner and he said that he drove it 60 miles to the show.

What drives all the actuators? How does power get to that box near the steering column?

it drives off the front crankshaft via gear boxes and shafts to power the control box.

I have pictures of a restored 1937 model with single axle and dual wheels and a cab. All the controls appear to be hand cranked.

Both models sure have a low center of gravity. The owner driving his grader sixty miles to the show was mentioned over the PA (or by someone during discussions in main big tent).

Hi guys-I just picked up this grader (1939 41S) this weekend. I need several right angle gear boxes for the drive mechanism.
Does anyone know where one might of these graders might be in a boneyard?
Also, a parts book would be helpful
Also, 5 inch wide by 20 split rims
Thanks.
