The nose will have to be re-indexed.  There is a locating pin that will have to be removed to allow the nose positon to change.

The started drive will have a different tooth count.

Thanks  i just took mine to the
rebuilder this morning said he could
fix it its a autolite have never rebuilt one have always been delcos
said he would adapt a different switch as the oem switches
are hard to find and pircey to

You're probably better off switching over to a Delco. Stick with the B,C,CA starter motor. Less problems adapting. The Autolite's are getting tough to find parts for, and pretty soon the parts will be extinct. Parts are plentiful for the Delco's, so there wouldn't be any problems repairing that unit down the road....
