I've got a 7040 that as of late when we start it, It immediately runs out of fuel. We need to pressurize the fuel system by pumping the hand pump before we start it. It then runs very good. We can see an air gap in the glass fuel filter before we use the hand pump. It fills as we pump. We have replaced the filters twice and currently have a new filter on. Has any body ever dealt with this before? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i,m trying to remember , i think allis came up with a  new route from the fuel tank to the filters , but this was done when our tractor was less than a year old , as we once had an issue ,  if i remember i,ll get back to you with more info ..

My 7040 did the same thing. It was sucking air in one of the lines. It never leaked fuel but there was enough of a hole in the line that air got in. I replaced all the Orings and the lines behind the fuel filter where they were rubbing. That fixed the problem, it runs like a top again.
