| Depends on how fast you want to go! 170hp 220 @6.8mph.Cousin uses a 100hp 190 and looks like he's crawling.Both 9 shank/4in twist Glencos. |

I would like to see a minimum of 15 pto hp per shank in our conditions in southern Pa.
A 10 shank will make my 7060 sit up and beg.

| I have 2 11 shank kewanee chisel plows, both with 3.5" twisted shovels. I can pull them at a depth of 12" with my 7040 7060 or 7080. My 7040 (136hp 20.8-38 duals, fluid, no weights) will pull it in low 3rd high. My 7060 (210hp 18.4-38 duals, fluid, 1000lb on each rear wheel) and 7080 (210hp 20.8-38 duals, no fluid, 1000 on each rear wheel) will pull them in low 4th high. All three of them have the PD trans. A disc chisel will take a few more ponies. I pulled an 11 shank glenco 4" twisted with a 6215 (215hp 18.4-46 duals) fwa White for a buddy with no trouble. |

I would say minum 135 hp. in your country depends on how deep,
I pull 7 shank w/ 4" twisted 11 to 12" deep about 5 mph w/ 7000 black belly in spots it works, Just keep your tractor Happy, and your wallet in your pocket, better safe then sorry.

| We pulled 11 shank twisted shovels with our 220 last spring in 4th. Cant remember the MPH but our tractor has fast low range, almost the same as 5th I think 5.8? This was 8-10" deep. How many you can pull and how fast will depend a LOT on if you have any plow sole and if you try to go below it,, believe me. |

I pull a 9 shank Glencoe disc chisel with twisted shanks with my two-ten around 6" deep at approx. 4 mph. In central Pennsylvania river bottom. My two-ten is weighing in around 14,500 lbs. ------------- 3 WC's, 2 WD's, 3 WD-5's, D-14 w/HenryBackhoe, D-17, 4 D-19's, 185, 190XTsIII, 200, 210, 7010, 10 L&G Allis's. We have a 9 shank glenco and Sunflower both disk chisels. Around here they don't get put on anything less than our 8070 fwa or the 7580. Might be able to get by with less power, but it takes the weight of them to pull them correctly. ------------- Making A living everyday farming with and working on Allis Equipment |

Chisel or soil saver? My 8030 handles a 11 shank chisel good but wouldn't dream of putting the 11 shank soil saver on it. Covered lots of acres back in the day with a 7000 and a 7 shank soil saver. ------------- 8030 and 8050MFWD, 7580, 3 6080's, 160, 7060, 175, heirloom D17, Deere 8760 |
