What would a good value be on a 1974 Dodge D600 grain truck.  It has an Omaha Standard bed on it, decent rear tires, fronts are wore pretty good, bed is in good shape, body is in good shape, 361 V8 with 2 barrel.  Hasn't been used in a couple of years.  23000 original miles.  I was told make an offer, but don't want to offend if I am too low.
Thanks
Adam

I've been is a similiar situation many times. I tell the seller up front that I don't want to insult them but this is what it is worth to me and give my offer. It may be worth at lot more to some one else but now at least the conversation is started. If the seller wants more than its worth to you, go home and call it a day. Often the seller has no idea what to ask and is fishing. I usually end up making a deal.

I watch one like you have described sell at a good farm auction about 7 years back.  I was willing to spend up to $3850, but it brought $6700.  About 2 years ago, grain trucks were bringing high dollars at auctions $6000-$12000 was not uncommon, now they seemed to have declined some?  23,000 miles is low for a 1974 2 ton grain truck.  Here is a link to some Chevrolet grain truck prices on tractorhouse's link    http://www.truckpaper.com/list/list.aspx?ETID=1&catid=356&Manu=CHEVROLET&bcatid=27 - http://www.truckpaper.com/list/list.aspx?ETID=1&catid=356&Manu=CHEVROLET&bcatid=27
