HD3 started kicking out- disengaging forward side last few times we used it. Lever Feels like its going over center and takes same pressure when you put in reverse, But forward kicks out when you get moderate load on it. Doesn't slip, you can hold it in place and it will kill engine or spin tracks. Never been into one before. And from looks of book Its looks like a lot of work to fix?

In all likelihood doing a shim adjustment will take care of your problem. The access panel is accessible alright but no real comfort spot to be working at on the H3. You may want to check the possibility of external travel of the control lever, you may be able to make it move fwd a bit more and it may stay in place.

Before you do anything, remove the 3/8" stop bolt that the lever rests against when in forward and try it. Shimming is to make up for clutch wear. Shimming will put more pressure against the ramp plates and usually makes it jump out even worse.
