I've mounted a small 4 GPM gear pump where the hydraulic pump normally is located and used it for power steering using engine oil and returning it back thru a filter and to the left rear corner of the block for added GPM's (with a crank driven oil pump) on a twin-turbo engine for pulling. I believe the pump from a 7010 or 7020 is a little more GPM than a 200 engine.

I am running twin turbos and want to make sure i have enough oil to the system. have ran it a few years with stock crank driven oil pump and just want to make sure i dont have problems.

We ran the same little power steering pump with an old camshaft driven pump for several years with no issues. You have piston cooling jets drilled in the upper main brg saddles ?? Our main and rod bearings run multiple seasons with the set-up we have. Our top turbo is imited to 3 inch inlet, so HP is in the 1100 to 1200 range.

Good question. I'm not sure what the GPM difference is between a 426 pump and a 301 pump. Then, if there is a difference will the 426 pump fit??

I would recommend tack welding the drive gear to the shaft no matter which crank driven pump you chose. There have been cases where the gear will slip / come loose from the shaft in a pulling engine. I suppose it's from pumping relatively cold engine oil at high engine speeds. Be sure the weld does not protrude past the end of the shaft or it will auger a hole in the front of the oil pan.

a good practice anytime.... any engine.... after all these years had a failure like this on a 7020....
