I have found a nice 720 that I can buy right but it is missing the Carb. Does anyone have an idea where I can get a good one?

I agree to check with Sandy Lakes...they also advertise on here.
As far as carb worth more than the tractor...a 720 is worth in the neighborhood of a thousand dollars or more in used parts alone. Den

Thanks to all who replied and I understand that it will probably take half of the back fourty to get one. Nice 1-1/2 inch rain in south central Illinois this morning so things are looking good.

I don't see why you couldn't find one cheap,there r plenty out there,and just think of all that have been converted to goofy Honda engines,onan generators ,tons of them,i know I have a few spares from engines like that,any small engine shop should have something from the past

You are right as I know even Lincoln welders used to have them but for some reason they are hard to find in this area. Everyone I know that put Hondas in there 720's, threw their engines in the scrap pile and are recycled into who knows what??? They flat hated the onan engines.

On occasions you'll find lottsa' parts for the 620's and 720's on e-bay from manifolds to wheels n' tires. Check out e-bay.

just bought a 616 yesterday we do not plan on repairing this motor we will put another briggs vanguard in 23hp do not know if the carb is the same or not hate say that i scraped out 19hp onan out of a720 last winter that needed over hauled but we replaced with a briggs and the customer likes it will not scrape this engine yet

Its funny, I've heard two sides of stories about these Onan engines where one side guys say "keep that engine"! they're a good tough engine! Then the other side is "those engines were junk"! Repower it with a real engine like a VanGuard or Kohler Command.... Who knows.. LOL!

the onan is a great engine with lots of torque parts are to hard to get and to expensive and the customers cant go for that also we cant warrantiy an engine biult from ebay parts we run in to no longer available parts from cummins all the time so it waste alot of shop time to find work around or other look at wisconsin heck of a motor we have a 1952 sa200 linchon welder with v4 we have customers that runs a fleet of them in concrete saws getting parts is very expensive but the major prob. is the disrtibutor has hard getting them also

If you don't find one soon, I have a parts engine w carb that will be in my sale Oct 4. It was a running engine but I couldn't stop an oil leak at the back seal of the crank.

I've rebuilt quite a few Wisconsin Distributors over the years. Most were Prestolite Distributors. We have parts in stock for them..
