From the Desk of:

Mat Staver, Chairman

Liberty Counsel Action

With every new phase of ObamaCare’s implementation, President Obama’s healthcare lies and broken promises are being unearthed. Now, frightening new revelations indicate that your most personal information could be handed over to convicted felons!

It is clear that this administration has little regard for truth telling or promise keeping, but when it comes to protecting your private information from criminals, they aren’t even bothering to make promises!

The Obama Administration is unapologetically throwing you to the wolves. We warned of this possibility months ago – and now it’s becoming a reality.

Last Wednesday, Health and Human Services Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius testified before the Senate Finance Committee regarding ObamaCare’s failing enrollment website, the federal exchanges, and a myriad of other elements within the so-called Affordable Care Act.

During the hearing, Sebelius was questioned by Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) about the ObamaCare “Navigators,” individuals hired to help people enroll in the exchanges. The line of inquiry was frank and direct.

Senator Cornyn asked Secretary Sebelius,

“Isn’t it true that there is no federal requirement for Navigators to undergo a criminal background check even though they will receive personal, sensitive information from the individuals they help sign up for the Affordable Care Act?”

She candidly replied,

“That is true. States could add additional background checks and other features, but it is not part of the federal requirement.”

Cornyn went on to ask Sebelius,

“So a convicted felon could be a Navigator and could acquire sensitive personal information from an individual unbeknownst to them?”

Secretary Sebelius responded without reserve or apology, and directly stated,

“That is possible.”

Whether it was too much of a hassle for the federal government to include a background check requirement for these healthcare Navigators, or it was simply not a matter of concern to them, remains unknown.

Regardless, both possibilities are entirely unacceptable and demonstrate the careless attitude held by the Obama Administration when it comes to the protection and best interests of the American people.

Don't drive your Chevy to the levy or you might get carjacked by a navigator.

Internal White House memo warned of “limitless threats” from Obamacare website security flaws

"Limitless" threat and risk potential is not exactly a security assessment that instills any confidence.  So, what did the Obama administration do when they received this analysis of the Obamacare website?  They put the thing online and encouraged every American to use it.

from CBS:

CBS News has learned that the project manager in charge of building the federal health care website was apparently kept in the dark about serious failures in the website’s security. Those failures could lead to identity theft among buying insurance. The project manager testified to congressional investigators behind closed doors, but CBS News has obtained the first look at a partial transcript of his testimony.

Henry Chao, HealthCare.gov’s chief project manager at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), gave nine hours of closed-door testimony to the House Oversight Committee in advance of this week’s hearing. In excerpts CBS News has obtained, Chao was asked about a memo that outlined important security risks discovered in the insurance system.

Chao said he was unaware of a Sept. 3 government memo written by another senior official at CMS. It found two high-risk issues, which are redacted for security reasons. The memo said “the threat and risk potential (to the system) is limitless.” The memo shows CMS gave deadlines of mid-2014 and early 2015 to address them.

But Chao testified he’d been told the opposite.

"What I recall is what the team told me, is that there were no high findings," he said.

Chao testified security gaps could lead to identity theft, unauthorized access and misrouted data.

No kidding. The identity theft has already begun.  We reported yesterday on a woman whose Social Security number was given to no fewer than 5 different people, and when she called to get it removed from the site, they told her it would take days to do so.

I seem to remember a "moderate" got upset about personal info being shared online. So, I'm sure they, the "moderates", will lead the charge on fixing this injustice. Right? "Moderates"?

http://poorrichardsnews.com/post/66848301728/boom-one-fired-three-suspended-after-project-veritas

Hey, remember that Project Veritas video exposing the Obamacare navigators? Well it's already had an effect. One person has been fired and 3 suspended for their part in the scheme. Now if only we can find a way to get the entire law repealed...

We recently brought to you the story of James O’Keefe and Project Veritas’ latest exposé:Obamacare “navigators”. In the video, navigators were caught on camera encouraging applicants to lie about their statuses in order to receive lower premiums and benefits offered by Obamacare. Well it looks like those responsible are seeing a little bit of justice as one has been fired and 3 have been suspended.

From MyFoxDFW:

The Urban League of Greater Dallas fired one person and suspended three others after a video from a conservative activist reportedly showed the workers encouraging health care applicants to lie.

An edited video was released Monday that seemingly shows so-called health care Navigators encouraging people to lie on forms signing up for health care to get better rates.

The video was released by Project Veritas, which was started by conservative activist James O’Keefe. O’Keefe gained notoriety for videos in 2009 that eventually brought down ACORN and was also arrested in 2010 for attempting to bug the phones in the office of Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu for a different project.

The Urban League said in a statement on Tuesday it “does not condone, nor would we ever sanction, misleading the public or any individual who seeks our assistance about any issue, and particularly in this case, an issue as critical as health care.”

The Urban League said the person fired was a “part-time receptionist trainee” who was not authorized to speak on behalf of The Urban League or act as a Navigator and said it supports decertifying three “Navigators-in-training” in the video.

I realize that this is nothing more than an attempt to make the story go away, an attempt to squelch the justifiable outrage of the public. But it’s a small victory nonetheless. The sad thing is that Mr. O’Keefe was able to find this fraud easily, which means this kind of thing is far from anecdotal. Obamacare is eaten up with fraud and waste. But then again, that’s what the government does best.
