I just received my produce report from the packing house I deliver to. WOOHHHA! vegetables are bringing big $$$$$$$ this year if you are fortunate to have a crop to bring in. Take a look at Beets, pickling cukes and green beans. WOW! I sure hope these prices hold next year too!...... On the down side I have a feeling that these prices will be reflected in the grocery stores as well.

Dennis, glad to hear it for ya! If we pay more in the grocery stores I hope most of it goes to the farmers but I doubt if it will.

Thats why folks that buy at the store should be getting to know their local farmers that produce produce.

We have gotten good prices for our produce this year also, but we only sell retail at the farm. We don't do any grading or market pricing, just price according to demand and (almost) everyone is happy lol! We are reaching our max output and the customer base is up, so we are weeding out the people who try to beat us down in price. There are still people out there that believe we should grow this stuff for no profit.....
