   Follow-up to my posting about rubber coulter trip. The rubber donut affair sure are spendy from AGCO ($224.00 Cdn). Found a used 2000 monoframe plow I can buy, but it has spring trip coulters. Question-which are better (release better, wear better, last longer etc or are the pretty well the equivalent) the spring trip coulters or rubber trip. Anyone with plowing experience with these plows your advice would sure be appreciated. Also, I don't see why you can't mix and match the spring trip with the rubber trip coulters-am I correct on this assumption.

	the rubber ones are better but in time will break apart , i have a 6 bottom with them but some are broke, never had trouble with them when we plowed.

	Mine is a 6 furrow also.One of mine fell right apart and another can spin (the rubber has let go from the steel backing plate). How long-acres or years should a new one last-just wondering

	My Dad had an 8 furrow new. Had the rubber ones taken off right after he got it and had ones with a shear bolt installed instead. Had trouble with the coulter bouncing ovber corn stalks he thought. We have two 6 furrows now and each one have the same shear mechanism as the 8 furrow had when he traded it ( I was just a kid then).

	we run those plows for several years without any problems , 2 5bottoms and 1 6 bottom a lot of acres like 5-6 hundred acres every year.

	Have not plowed with these yet but have three, I think the spring ones may be more desirable just from experience with an IH plow with spring coulters.

	The coulters on my 2000 are fixed. In my plow bottoms and coulters book, more coulters are fixed than are spring or rubber. Gerald J.

	I liked the rubber cushioned coulters better but they are now too high priced to replace.
