Can someone tell me what the correct size batteries are for a 190xt. My battery box currently has 2 car batteries with a bunch of wooden shims holding them tight. Thanks

That works and the car batteries can be bought with 5 or 6 year warranty where tractor battery has at most 2 year and will cost more.

27 is standard and 31 were the heavy duty option if I remember right. I use 27. Either will work.

Thanks guys. I know that the car batteries will work too, I'm just kind of anal I guess. Just don't really like wooden shims and bungee cords holding my batteries down. Especially when the original hold down is there and in good shape.

Welding cables, Andy. Welding cables have a little bit smaller cross section than SEA wire sized cables, but they are more flexible.  They work well.  Have a truck repair shop build a set for you.

Group 31 from TSC, they are made by Exide battery co for TSC. $99 each. Do a great job so far but I have only had them a year.

The old ALLIS CHALMERS  part # was 243473 or BCI group size 30H for a 190XTD.

I have had Interstate batteries in my 180 diesel for years.   Interstate just seem to do much better than other batteries.

Looked at Exide recently at a large chain "Farm & Ranch Store". Asked someone I knew had been at that store for some time how many came back? Was told they were under review and that chain was looking at going with other vendors due to failures/returns before hitting end of warranty.
I stayed with Continental as the last one was ten years old. They change-up designs/ratings constantly on batts it seems and many of the low end now seem to struggle with lasting the advertised warranty period.
Subject to use and maintenance but Continentals have worked for me so far . . . .

Can you fit 2 truck batteries in there. They do a great job and are usually much cheaper than the automotive ones. Would have to check if the top stud arrangement works for you.
