I happened upon an Allis Chalmers refrigerator in TN. It has the manufactures tag on the back, stamped Allis Chalmers Refrigerator manufactured in Italy. I knew they made them, but they are very rare.
Heres the deal, I am an IHC refrigeration collector. Anything International Harvester related, refrigerators, deep freezers, window unit air conditioners, tupperware (IHC MADE ONLY), I would trade this allis fridge to any of these items. Any trades must be in good condition, I would trade to IHC appliances that do not work as well, but I do not want a rust bucket. These were manufactured in the late 40's and early 50's. I am located in south central KY, near lake cumberland. This allis fridge is very cool, the previous owner said it worked until last year, and he just wanted it out of his way. Would make an EXCELLENT addition to your Allis Chalmers collection. |

Here it is, in fairly good shape for the age i'd say. Still has racks and containers all in place as well. Tried to upload a photo of the I.D. Tag but this forum said I was spamming, try again later.
Ive had several replies about IHC fridges or deep freezers. Please if you are interested send me some pictures of what you have to jonathanfox11@yahoo.com There are only certain IHC models I am interested in trading to. I was asked to sell it outright as well, while I would rather make a swap, I will consider cash offers for the fridge. Im not sure how much it is worth exactly, but I do know one thing... ive been searching for these old IH fridges for years and have never seen an Allis other than online pictures. The IH's were made in the 40's/50's, while on the other hand Allis made them much more recently in the 70's. Bottom line, the Allis's are next to impossible to find. I beg to argue that they were likely not as well built as IH fridges, respectfully thats why most of them probably made it to the scrap yard by now. While I would rather have another time proven 'binder' in my collection, if I do not receive any reasonable cash offer for the allis I will keep it to go along side a Two Twenty Allis my father purchased for restoration. Keep in mind, I paid a purchase price, and drove two 1/2 hours from home to get it. |

I have a refrigeration that was used on a farm to cool 10 gallon cans of milk. It's a belt driven compressor, motor missing. I'll have to look but I think it's IHC, it will be April before I can look at it. I was going to use it for an air compressor.

UPDATE: I appreciate everyone who took interest in this allis fridge, but I have worked out a trade with a member here from Illinois on a IH deep freezer.
I hope everyone interested in one of the fridges fine one, they are very unique, and an important part of history. |

while I have no need for the fridge, I would love to have one or two of those emblems for putting on my tool box!
