I'm in the process of saving a 1950 B from a trip to the scrap yard and it has a Kub Klipper belly mower mounted on it. Does anyone know anything about the mower and is it worth restoring? Thanks, Joe

Take the blade hubs out of the mower and let the scrap man have it. Used woods usually go from $5-700. Makes Kub-Klipper worth about $40.

Joe -
Are you sure that is a Kub Klipper? This mower looks an awful lot like the SunMastr on my C. Same belt guard thingy, double pulley bracket and main drive pulley. Kub Klipper and SunMastr maybe the same? I'll see if I can dig up some pics of my mower.
cheers,
Creek

Yes, according to the tag, it's a Kub Klipper model B-360E made by Sun-Master. Some pics would be nice. Thanks, Joe

So the Kub Klipper name belongs to SunMastr. Didn't know that. I've had good luck with my mower, however only have used it this past summer. Seems pretty well built. I put a new drive belt on it and hammered the blades flat again. I did have to make a set of front wheels for it as it came just with the skids, no wheels. So I whipped up a set of brackets and just bought some greaseable shop wheels. I took the skids off completely as my field is not real level and they were gouging a bit. I also removed the belt shield as it was cracked and rattling. A guy at work is making a new one for me out of 10 gage. You can buy parts from Art's Way - they bought SunMastr back in the '80s I think. Mine will need a set of blades pretty soon, they are a bit unusual as no center hole, two bolts on either side of center. I have searched the InterWeb for someone that makes replacements to no avail so I might have to suck it up and call Arts Way. One thing I found out is do not overtighten the deck belt that runs around the blade pulleys. because it has no flat side idler and instead uses an octagon belt. Overtighten it and it will throw the belt.
cheers,
Creek

I have a Dansuer mower on one of my CA's, It uses blades as you describe, 2 1/2" bolts to hold it on. I bought a new set 2 years ago from a Case-IH dealer for $72.00.
Does yours use 1 belt or 3? Mine uses 2 57" belts and 1 118" belt. I get about 3-4 years out of the main belt and have about 8 years out of the short ones. The main belt costs about $30.00 and $10.00 for the other 2. Bob
