I want to change the trans & differential fluid on my 1939 MODEL B what is recommended? I would like to use a modern 85w140 synthetic gear lube is that ok. Do i have to put in a posi traction additive is it a posi traction rear end in there? I have changed the motopr oil & filter & plan on flushing & filling the radiator are there any more fluids I should change or basic maintainance I should do. I dont know the last time anything has been done on my tractor. As always thanks in adsvance for all your help.

Allis Chalmers called for straight 20 weight non-detergent but I think most guys use hy-tran now. I put 20 weight in my B. If your tractor has hydraulics then the trans/diff oil is where the hydraulic pump draws oil from, which is probably why AC specified a lighter weight oil than typical gear oil.

Those are Final Drives, no brakes in there! Use gear oil in the final drives.

Hy-tran is 20 weight if I remember reading right.
